Approximately 1/4 pregnancies end in the tragedy of miscarriage. Despite the commonality of this heartache, there is an undue societal stigma against mothers who experience this grief, leaving mothers stunned into silence and with a false sense of shame.

Rainbows symbolize hope and renewal after losing a baby or infant, especially for parents who have lost a child but are now expecting again.

Though miscarriages are not the same as abortions (miscarriage is the tragic, natural, unintentional loss of a child, while abortion is an intentional, violent procedure that unnecessarily ends a child’s life), we felt called to give representation to the community of those affected by miscarriage.

Miscarriages and abortions are both losses that we wish never happen to a mother or her child, as both result and the mother never getting to hold their baby in their arms. We stand with all healing mothers as they grieve and cope with a world without their babies.

For those who have not experienced this heartache but your heart aches for those who have, take this chance to advocate for in a simple way.

Honor the lives lost & hearts broken through this tragedy, normalize the compassionate conversation around M&IF, and show your friends & those around you that although you know you can’t take away their pain, you mourn with them.
